Help keep our forums creative, constructive and clean.
Please read these guidelines before posting to the forum and adhere to them at all times.

The Moderator or Administrator reserves the right to delete any posts, threads or user accounts that breach these guidelines.

  1. ALWAYS STAY ON TOPIC. If you're creating a thread ask yourself if it relates constructively to the forum topic, if you're replying to a thread ask yourself if it relates constructively to both the thread and forum topics. If you want to talk about something that is not directly related to Sodaplay please take it to the community discussion forum. We welcome most general conversation in the community discussion forum, but discourage it in all other forums.
  2. ASKING FOR HELP IS GOOD BUT THINK AND RESEARCH BEFORE YOU POST. Try not to post to the help thread or create a new topic whenever a question arises. Instead search the forums to see if anyone else has asked the same question you have.
  3. IF YOU REALLY NEED HELP TRY TO USE THE HELP THREAD. Sodaplay experts have created this thread especially to help both new members and experienced users. Explain your question clearly and thoughtfully and someone will probably be happy to help as soon as they can.
  4. PLEASE DO NOT CREATE THREADS FOR FRIVOLOUS REASONS. A thread should be something that is carefully considered and likely to spark lots of discussion or debate in the community. A new thread that just says "Hi!" is not constructive. If you are uncertain about which topics belong on the boards and which do not, just hang out for a couple of days and watch which kinds of things get positive responses and keep an eye on the constructors who make positive contributions to learn the ropes.
  5. NO SPAMMING. Spamming in this forum does not only cover irrelevant adverts, it also covers threads or posts that contribute little or nothing to the community, be it off topic or on topic. Examples include: empty posts, posts with few words or that have no relation to the current thread or discussion. The forum Moderator or Administrator makes this determination.
  6. DO NOT RESPOND TO SPAM. If you see a post that you believe to be spam then ignore it. Spam is contagious; all replies to spam are spam. Replying to a topic increases its prominence; if you reply to spam (even if only to point out that it is spam) then you are increasing the prominence of spam.
  7. IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO POST THEN DON'T POST AT ALL. Please refrain from very short posts such as "ok" or "huh?" lots of little postings like these make the forum cluttered and difficult to read. If you have a criticism then only post it if you are sure it is constructive, relevant and thoughtful.
  8. DON'T USE THE FORUM AS A CHAT ROOM. Chatting involves lots of short postings in a rapid dialog. There are many chat or instant messaging services available on the internet; this isn't one of them.
  9. DON'T REVIVE OLD THREADS. When replying to a post check its date; if it's been dead for two months, and you don't have anything significant and relevant to the current date to add, let it stay dead.
  10. NO CURSING, SEXUALLY EXPLICIT LANGUAGE OR OFFENSIVE MATERIAL. People of many different ages and backgrounds use this forum, please be respectful of this diversity. Posting of personal attacks or comments which are insulting, sexist, racist, homophobic or otherwise offensive are strictly forbidden.
  11. DON'T CALL NEW FORUM MEMBERS N00BS, NEWBIES ETC. We're all new members at first and being called a noob isn't a very nice welcome. If you see a new member posting in an inappropriate place then only correct them once with accurate helpful information such as a working link to the help thread ( http://sodarace.net/forum/thread.jsp?forum=17&thread=732 ).
  12. NEVER CREATE A NEW USER ACCOUNT TO POST ANONYMOUSLY OR IMPERSONATE OTHER USERS. Any accounts that appear to have been made to post anonymously or imitate a user with a similar name will be permanently deleted.
  13. DO NOT REVEAL PERSONAL INFORMATION. You should not reveal your real name, postal address or email address on forums. This is a public forum and you never know who else might be interested in your personal details.
We hope that you enjoy the forum and thank you for your positive participation in our creative community.
