IMPORTANT NEWS: Finding a new forum for a new Sodaplay   posted: 14-Aug-07 13:49   »»

Soda is busy building a new version of sodaplay. This forum software is getting too old to maintain or upgrade so we're going to be looking for a new forum for the new sodaplay.

As a first step we've made two different types of forum that we invite you to test:

Tangler: http://www.tangler.com/group/11032
phpBB: http://sodaplay.hostingdelivered.com

Over the coming weeks the current forum will be converted into a read-only archive so now is the time to explore the new forums or suggest/create your own. I look forward to seeing you post in the new forums and finding out which you prefer.

We'll be making a static copy of this entire forum so that when we choose a new forum you can make links back to any old topic you want to refer to.

why do they need a brand new site? why not just add links HERE to different pages? If the old software is too old, trash it and make new stuff on here.

Of the options, I do prefer PhpBB a lot more, as it is much easier to use. I thought about it longer, and I can see why you would need to upgrad rather than just trash a forum. That would be a lot of work, more than an upgrade i would think. So, ignor my above posts. =)\

i like them both, but i dont like the fact that you have to make accounts with tangler or whatever its called. also you guys should include a html edit box option for when you post.

I like the phpBB one better so far. Its interface makes more sense... Of course, I haven't really used tangler yet; it seems to have eaten my confirmation email.

I prefer phpBB, myself. I'm more used to it, since I'm already on a few phpBB forums. (Sonic ones, duh!)

I tried to create a phpBB username with darkaerial9

It claims that it contains forbidden characters even tough it does say "alphanumeric only." Someone please help.
