Delicate Race   posted: 13-Nov-06 20:10   »»
Rules:

No Giants or flyers, or anti-gravs.etc
No models that don't fall into one of these categories:
Category A: Delicate way of walking.
Category B: Were made very delicately and took a long time to create.
Category C: I can be a bit weird, and i love amoebas, so it can be an amoeba too.

You can enter them on one of two terrains:

1: Category A, Flat Race.
2: Category A, hilly race

Race Tracks:
1: Flat Track. No need for me to post this one, sodarace makes it automatically.
2: Here is the hilly track: Dang, internet not working properly. Oh well, if this link doesn't work, i'll fix it tomorrow.

For the flat one, that fast model is a (fairly complex) running biped. If that isn't complex enough, then use the other model, as it is move complex.

For closer examination, a similar version of the model (but slower) is found here:
http://sodaplay.com/constructor/beta/applet.htm?&getmodel=edlinfan+loper

In case you were wondering, the model is an exploded version of this RAM widget.

what a great way to showcase my various useless models! the winner is my 2 layered amoeba, the big ones are just for show, and the others are just generic models (dainties, push-u-pull-me, and a spider). yay for the delicates!

and for strait-up speed--i got a really fast mesh (not amoeba). a lil sloppy when its pushed like this, but with lower wave speed, more friction, and less gravity, it really quite lovely

Time to show off my new models. All the new models in the race are the models a made recently.

Most of them are way to slow for races but i also got a new race amoeba in the race. And I've been experimenting with flex models and muscel placement a bit this week, more flex models are in progress :).

Edit: You can now use this race as a showing-off race. Since it seems popular, but i don't mind.

@Tommyboy:

Your model bridges the gap through excellent tuning and (I'm sure) a lot of trial-and-error. My model, on the other hand, beats the gap through superior design. It is also not a giant, as yours seems to be.

Also, yours sort of died when subjected to the glitch twice in a row. If you compare times, you can see that mine wins by a large margin. It's pretty obvious that it wins just by watching how far ahead it is for the enitre race anyway....

Bring it on....!

Acutally elf, it's not a glitch, i removed some of the track, replaced it with fixed springs, and put 'LOOK OUT' with an arrow above it. Hehehe... and both of you failed to bridge the gap...

Apart from tommyboy when he first entered his.

STDP, failing the gap, even hooking onto the floor, (this is not a zipline race, like my other) means you lose the race.
