Oh yeah ed, I don't think people really care much about the file menu. The blank spaces below the pictures of the current model playing and selected model COULD have some cute animations or links to the 'new in the zoo' thing, but it's fine like this. The best thing about this whole site is that it's not cluttered with ads and crap. It is pure soda.

how about when you make any one shape you can click a button and doing that makes an identical, only mirrored, shape attatch to the side that is most likey to be the deired haldway poiunt..to to that part easier, you can have a switch to make it on the left side or the right side of the figure...

that might work

Has anyone here seen 'boing'? it is just like this, and has some cool things.

When you right click on a mass or spring you can edit it - in soda you could make it a muscle, make it solid, make it fixed. but, to make springs, you create 2 masses, select 1, then right click on the other and say 'make spring' this is good!

Also, easier deleting, i hate having to go into delete mode - right click menu again? keyboard shortcuts would be nice as well. mirrored shapes are definitely a good idea, since so many shapes are identical on each side.

Am I the only one here? I guess I am an addict. Nobody here except ed has mentioned the fabled undo command, so I will.

when(true), run
{
print"There should be an undo command."
}

How we can all have what we want II, the return of the inspector window   posted: 14-May-02 18:14   »»
As I said before, if sodaconstructor had an inspector window, each component could be edited seperately and easily.

Also multiple waves would be nice, and solid lines
here's an example of what I mean (you'll need flash 6)

This is a wild idea, but maybe we could choose our sodaconstructions to be male or female, with no way to change the sex after the initial decision. Then, there could be a program that "mates" the two and an AI would build a similar one to its parents (with a random sex). The "babies" would be given to the owner of each parent. Great way for inspiration! There would have to be something that indicates whether the creation is an original; if not, you could see links to its brothers, sitsters, parents etc. All I know is that this would be very hard to create.

How about joints (like ball-and-socket, hinge, double-hinge), or sliding masses, or semi-free masses? Or how about ways to enlarge and shrink your models?

The Sodashop   posted: 29-May-02 04:49   »»
I know the topic title is about the interface, but I couldn't clutter up the forum with another new topic.

The sodashop is looking pretty cool. I was thinking about buying a daintywalker coaster, even if it is a little overpriced. (Everything overpriced to the coinsumer anyway). But, what else does Soda have in store for their Sodaplay store?

Thank you coaldiamond! The sodashop [ http://sodaplay.com/shop ] is a new venture for us, a bit of an experiment but we hope it will grow. As I'm sure you can imagine building and maintaining sodaplay takes mucho time and money, we hope the sodashop will be a friendly way of raising some contributions by giving people stuff they want while keeping sodaplay free to play for all. Sorry that things are a bit pricey in the shop, we're very upfront about this being a fundraising excersice so support sodaplay.

As for what's in store for the store, I'd love to hear your ideas! How do you rate the current collection and what sorts of other sodaplay goodies would you like if they were on sale?

Other items? Screensaver. Absolutely. Otherwise, I'm sure everybody would be a lot more inclined to purchase items if they could choose any model from the zoo and have it on their mugs/shirts/coasters.
