Flarenya,

What youa re talking about is a three point amoeba. these don't spin really reliably in my experience. 5 pointers and up do better. nevertheless, the first step is to make a perfect triangle. Look at this example using the template from my guiline contest:

http://sodaplay.com/constructor/player.htm?&getmodel=example+Flarenya1

notice also that the muscles are spread out over the wave pallet so they are equally apart from each other.

tuning is the real key though, gravity and wave amplitude need to be adjusted carefully to get it to "roll".

(off topic) I saw your new model in the zoo, really cool!

i know it's kind of crude, but can someone tell me how quirky_flier works? is it the same concept as kinetic_pumper? Here's the 2 links:

http://sodaplay.com/constructor/player.htm?&getmodel=Ataensic+quirky_flier

http://sodaplay.com/constructor/player.htm?&getmodel=Ataensic+kinetic_pumper

That model link source is sooo useful. No more searching the threads for a valid link.

sorry to double post, but are there accounts with names "examples" and "Examples"? or is it soda-made, like display?

Hi Riddlen, I like that 'rubymotor' idea. Like warptera said, I made another 'set of guts' ie, two of all the moving parts, and I timed them opposite each other.. I couldn't duplicate your's exactly, so I just drew the whole thing again..

http://sodaplay.com/constructor/player.htm?&getmodel=Prototypes+Rhymin_Ruby

With both sets of moving parts, you can make two sets of legs & feet so that it walks.
Hope you like it!

Flarenya,

No problem. You're welcome. Feel free to post here whenever you need help.

Hopefully other people will comfortable sharing their knowledge too on these boards if we keep it constructive. I know many great constructors who have let their presences diminish due to annoying spam. That is a great loss!

Ataensic,

Yes, "Example" and "example" are accounts (i got tired of the capital "E"). But they are not like "display" as that account is tied into soda and is administered by ed. The first two are just a place for me to keep examples that I post on the boards.

I used to just use my "warptera" account but I keep my workspace notoriously clean and i'd always delete things too early.

I just can't get this model to move right, any tips, like if i should move the little wave thing would be appreciated- Thanks

Hmmm, maybe it should stay the same, but i'm shaping up for the sodarace thing so, you get the idea.

Flarenya,

It kinda walks if you program it like this:

http://sodaplay.com/constructor/player.htm?&getmodel=example+Flarenya2

but it would be more effective if you measured the legs with a guideline. In zero-gravity, with wave amplitude at zero, each pair if legs should look identical.

That's exactly what i wanted it to do! Thanks! I kept trying and trying to make it work, Thanks!

I even looked at your model, what's wrong with it?

Sorry flarenya,

this isn't a chat room. I'm doing some constructing and watching my friends play tiger woods golf. I check the boards pretty often but you still need to be patient.

your GRRRRR rendition is programmed correctly, the problem is that the legs need to be constructed accurately. Use a guideline and make every length exactly the same. then reprogram and your good to go after some tuning.
