Motors? Uhh...   posted: 04-Jun-07 03:28   »»
Hey everyone. I present you with an extremely noobish question, which shall only be trumped by my next question. Anyhow, my question is...

What the hell is a motor?

In addition to answering this key question, I would appreciate some examples of various types of motors, like... linear and... RAM... *cough*

well a motor is a motor...In motored models, is it the motor, that powers the legs in the model.

Here is the motor account with alot of different types of motors:http://sodaplay.com/constructor/beta/applet.htm?&getmodel=motors

Here is a RAM: http://sodaplay.com/constructor/beta/applet.htm?&getmodel=lasse1234+RAM

And here is a mundi motor, it is very bad, but it is working: http://sodaplay.com/constructor/beta/applet.htm?&getmodel=lasse1234+mundy

Thanks for the help, Lasse.

If possible, some implementations of all those motors you showed me would be greatly appreciated.

In the mean time, I shall retreat to my den and try and figure out how these things work. The RAM looks... complicated...

just look in my public models, nearly all of them are motored models, some of them are complicated but some of my old models, is'nt so complicated. if you wanna kno how they work, try to dissect them, then it sometimes gets easier to figure out how they works.

Thanks a ton. I like the ones powered by the... RAM motors. Just because they look cool. ˆˆ

I imagine some day in a few years I'll be starting on a motored walker.
