you need to make a square of only zip-springs.

That's right-- thats how you make tension muscles. That is probably how this thing works.

I made an interesting spin on pandoras box. It is a hexagon. It acts very similar to a normal hexagon. I found a strange way in which it reforms itself. Grab an edge and pull it towards the center and keep pulling. You will notice the smaller one (pandoras hexagon) flips itself around on itself while the larger one (regular hexagon) stays somewhat stuck.

It's so weird that people ACCIDENTALLY make these mind-boggiling wonders.

i think i can see how it works but it's impossible for me to explain as i haven't a degree in physics. kind of like...the zipsrings are resisted by the tension of the others, so if you push them in they go...i dont know but if you look at it you kind of see how it works.

Thats how Siences creat new stuff..
Accidents are the "key" to an Invention.

What is also amazing is how this program allows for scientific anomalys!

Im going to try to describe how this works:

As a spring get stretched, it gets weaker. So when you move the pandora, two zips get stechted, wile the other get shrunken.
it will only work with zips becuae when it is moved, at a sertain piont the zips get shrunken dow to there normal size.If you use just short springs, they will want to pop back into shape.
This is very hard to explain, but If you think about it, you will fully understand.. evntually.

Hi, I was looking for a thread for posting something which is very simple..
It's not very impressive, but the measurements are such a coincidence and so fundamental, I decided to put it here.

All of the springs are zip springs except for 3 @ 200 pixels, 2 @ 300 pixels, and 1 @ 500 pixels.

So, the ratios are very fundamental at 2, 3, 5.

Experiment with it, and maybe you'll see what I mean..

The original box was made with the sides as zip-springs and all the diagonals as long springs bigger than the square itself.

Try it by loading it and deleting the sides, then load it again and delete the diagonals.

this is kinda funky i found that Kevino made 2 pandoras, so i put them 2gether..... well, when you see the model, put friction all the way down and watch for like 10 seconds......
