Slippy, don't connect more than 2 barsprings to a single mass. Otherwise, many bizzare bugs are likely to occur.

I think thats because the mass is literally in the track. Thats really cool.

I agree with evilgoatfiend. I think the bug occurs because the coordinates of the mass and the barspring are exactly the same. The mass is neither over or under the track, so weird thing happen. This doesn't explain the bug someone found where, when you pull a mass off a barspring, it goes right back onto it, somhow the two become associated.

Darn! a made a coaster and tried to save it but ended up losing it because I went to load and thought that that was the login.

tweaked Xander's coaster a little to fix the glitch and get some interesting "ricochet" behavior, then decided that I should make my own if I want to put any serious effort into it. anyway, here:

has anyone figured out how to reliably utilize the effects of any of the bugs to increase a masses velocity (ie. for the ability to create perpetual motion and thus make an endles coaster)?

althoguh i really like the latest innovations in rollercoasters....i can't say im totally thrilled about most of the models.....there are a lot of models in wich the mass just bounces around and then accidently hits a ramp...

This is not the way to construct a coaster....aqlthough who am i to say that...but the definition of a coaster is a mass wich follows a fluent motion allong a path of carefully placed barrsprings...and this is not easy..and takes up a lot of time!

and i also think im going to declare the winner for my contest in a couple of hours..because i think all contestants made their entry and the contest is over.

ok...im not joking here but it has been a pain in the butt to choose a winner..and even more to construct my reward coaster...but i have decided..

(when its on the right side drag the mass up to the right-top corner.

ill tell you a little something about it...this wasn't the real version i wanted to make..my orignal idea was to make a coaster wich u can reverse on the end when u turn gravity into reverse...:

but as you can see this model is almost inmpossible...ill tel you why....first of all there is a very strange glitch in beta....when a ball drops dead on the floor. and you immediatly reverse grav. the speed the mass has is less than when u reverse it after 10 seconds...the difference is pretty big..and to big to account in a rollercoaster design....

But this was just 2much of a challenge for me...ive put around 10 hours! just in the reversing mechanism...but still no suc6...well sometimes you jsut have to know when to give up..:(

but i still think the reward coaster looks pretty cool..

and for mythmon and the rest of the contestands...tnx a lot for this beautiful competition..ive seen some great entry's. and i almost considered giving everyone 1st prize...but it would take me another couple of hours...putting the names into the coaster...so i just had to decide
