hello,

i am new here. actually i am doing my research project, i am quiet interested with the sodarace creature, but i would like to know if i can add a sensor on it?

Hmm, sensor, do you mean one that stops the creature running into anything? Because, that hasn't been suggested yet, and can't be done. (yet). Cool! A new person!

first thanks for the reply.

actually it is a sensor whatever let's say a sensor which tell the position of the prey or a sensor which can tell the temperature, like this a neron can make a decision according to the information that it gets using some altorithms.

is it clear and applicable?

So you mean a model with a sensor that can either tell the temperature or how far away other models are? Good idea, but no, you can't. At the moment, no-one's suggested that but you, and the main big update coming up is SC2 (sodaconstructor 2) with free barsprings, and everyone's looking forward to it.

i think it is a good idea to have sensors whatever it serves with the sodarace creature. it will be more interaction between the enviroment and the creature itself.

Lets ignore that post above me and continue...

SC2 will not come with barsprings, but someone will be able to mod it to have them. Ed said it on the SC2 preview website.

there is a way

1 build your model

2 add 2 triangle bits at both ends(as long as they don't affect movement)

3 the triangle bits will act as feelers

I believe he means a sensor, so it would go the oeher way. Some sensors are built-in on your model. In the constructor, they are on when the motion selector is "auto-reverse", where the sensors ONLY work on the sides of the constructor. It may be possible to make it so that, when the sensor is pushed by the terrain, the model would do something. I will look into it.
