AI races   posted: 08-Mar-04 00:21   »»
This is an atempt to revive the AI forums. Similar to my Sodarace forums topic, except it is more fitting here because these races are somewhat hard without AIs. Here are the rules:

1. Fastest model wins (duh.)

2. You can use auto-optimizers or other AI programs.

3. Anything is allowed. These races are designed to stop giants and prevent flyers. But if some flyer gets through, good for you.

4. My models don't count.

This contest will last until it dies (which will take a long time here.) Or until I set a deadline.

Here are the races. The first model was optimized using Miro. I did not get a model for the second one yet. Also, the second one is the same one I used in the Sodarace forums and is the harder one. Good luck!

Good plan SodaFan.
I think we need some standard races to test out the AIs and have a bit of a competition (I have been using the mountainrace from jbrownlee). But could we have a few easier ones that lead up to the four-wheel drive off reader races you have devised ? My agents are still having trouble getting a third of the way across a flat terrain !

And the same model on the other track.

The theoretically fastest time is 300 frames so I don't think much improvement will be possible for this track, but prove me wrong if you can!

This little flyer I have breeded using wodka. It is not the fastest but anyway shows that breeding from scratch can produce reasonable results and interesting models.
Currently I am working on an incremental learning strategy. This should allow to breed models on difficult terrains from scratch.

Hello sodafan.
I like your terrains. Could you please publish the terrains as models. I would like to use them for my incremental learning approach of wodka.
