ok, but his amoeba was not tuned to race on the sloped terrain, his was tuned to be the fastest on flat land ONLY. you change the terrain at all, his amoeba will only flounder around and will do terrible.

I have alredy posted a topic a while back on the limits of amoebas on sloped terrain called ATA:all terrain amoeba. the topic was mainly about testing the climbing and durability (ex: big drops, snags, spaers, ect.) of amoebas, and finding out the secret for the best ATA. during this topic i found that the proper setting to acheive maximum effeshentsy varies from terrain to terrain depending on slopes, drops, and obsticales.

On a corse with alot of obsticales it is best to have a amoeba with a low amount of points (preferably 8-10). Also a small wave length with low g (gravity) and f (friction), and medium k (stifness???) are desirable.

On a corse with several large drops it is best to have and amoeba with and medium amount of points (12-16), and a medium amount of g, f, and k setting. each amoeba has a different wave langth that will make them go fast and have good durability, you will have to play around with the wave setting in order to get the disired wave length for your particular amoeba.

On a corse with a high slope a high amount of points (18+) is important. also you will want as high amount of g as you amoeba can handle (this usually ends up being about half-way to full), as low amount of f as your amoeba can handle, and as high amont of k os your amoeba can handle. one other very vidal thing that is important in an amoeba's climbing ability is wave length. the wave length should be quite high as to make your amoeba flat. make shure that you dont make your amoeba's wave length too big or it wont be able to stand up to the gravity.

I hope i was able to help you and these are only guidlines that i have found useful and are not nessissaraly true, but i found them very useful in my constucting and i hope you will too.

Hi, I would like to know where Queen Mary University is. I am hoping it is near where I live so I can go there. Is it a technical college?

Please send me some info at:

Thank you.

Hi Chirag,

Is there a way to access this genetic program somehow?

It sounds like a good idea. I think that it would be fun to compete in a race like that. This race needs more detail, but you did say that you would talk more about it on your site. I hope I get to compete in this great race. I will work on building different things, so that I will be ready for the race.

P.S. Keep the good ideas coming!

Hi HarrisonH, the site for the program is: www.dcs.qmul.ac.uk/sodarace/SodaAICentral_index.html
there's also recently been another program recntly released called PlagiarismDetector
check it out at: http://www.dcs.qmul.ac.uk/sodarace/SodaPD_index.html

and ROBO_HEN5000, queen mary is in east london, uk. more info at: www.dcs.qmul.ac.uk

The fastest I can make an amoeba go is 217 frames on that track.

Please do not revive dead topics. This topic had been dead for about 8 months, which means no one is interested any more. Don't suddenly bring this up.

If you want to learn how to play this, look here:
http://www.sodaplay.com/constructor/how/start.htm

And please use the dedicated help thread in the model maker forum next time.

Same thing again, i'm not usually one to complain, but this topic was dead. The last post was in January and yours was in June. Please don't post in topics 2 months or older. This is considered as spam.

Maybe the best thing to do in a dying forum, is not to complain every time someone writes in a thread that is a little old. Wich the pace of the incomming posts, there is going to be a long time between each post, and then whenever a new person comes here, finds an interesting thread on the first page, because even on the first page they get pretty old, and wants to participate, then they get scolded from you, and they probably lose interest.

Then they should have read the forum guidelines, shouldn't they!?
