In my opinion, there should be two "divisions" of models in racing competitions. First, there should be a weight-division to have simple models race simple models and copmplex models race complex models. There would be a size limit proportional to the weight. Also, there would be size-limits in which the model must be built inside an area of limited space. Big race big, and little race little.

I don't know about your different size classes, but I had always thought that a certain box as a limitation would be the best use of scaling and anti spear in one. Any modelmaker that feels its been cheated into not using its space fully can use the utility tool developed by Jeckyll. as long as its rest and movement length are within the box.

In real racing classes are decided by power level, not size.

Also one thing I notice about sodarace is that you can alter the mass and gravity by machine which I find odd. In that case the best thing to do is to have big gravity for good friction, almost no weight, which is good for stability of the model and the power/weight ratio.

A race should have fixed gravity, friction and k for all models taking part.

I have always thought that too, that settings should be properties of the terrain, and that a setting durable model is another desired trait, as well as speed and terain capabilities. Granted the extreames of each setting and those combinations would make quite elite and obscure models that would enter, but maybe that would be part of the point.

I think you can. In some part of the terrain code, it has a thing for GFK. Usually they're set on "CONTENDER", so whatever the contender has, it uses. However, probably if you set those to numbers, it will have to conform.
